iPhone 16 Overview

Apple plans to launch the iPhone 16 series sometime next year; the series includes a massive amount of critical upgrades and some design changes too. Here is what the new series will have to offer:

Design

Apparently, there will be a new display size in the line-up. The Pro models are said to sport larger screens than usual – 6.3 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Form factor

The design might still feature flat edges, but the frame might be redesigned with a chance to be made with titanium for Pro models.

Camera setup

Expected to feature a slightly updated rear camera layout with a chance to be vertically oriented like the current iPhone 12 series.

Under-Display Face ID

 Face ID might go under-display, which could allow it to get rid of the need for a visible notch or a Dynamic Island in higher-end iPhones.

Display Refinements

Brighter, more efficient displays with even more color capacity should be the order of the day, taking strides further than those made with Pro Motion and current OLED developments.

Camera

Periscope Lens

The iPhone 16 Pro Max could get a periscope telephoto lens, which will bring much better optical zoom capability.

Chipset

 The iPhone 16 series is obviously bound to have a new A18 chip. Expected to be using a 3nm+ process, this chip will offer great performance and efficiency.

Battery

With the new chipset, efficiency in power management might improve along with battery life.

Other Features

USB-C

 There’s a recent rumour that Apple will adapt USB-C to all iPhone 16 models, with fast data transfer and charging in line with the EU.

5G and Connectivity

 5G expansion is expected to become much better in its bid to offer faster speeds and connectivity options.

Release Date and Pricing

Launch: iPhone 16 is likely to be introduced in September 2024, or doing so would be akin to Apple’s annual ritual of release.

Pricing

 The standard should not be expected to be much different from the usual prices of iPhone 15 series, but there might be some increment due to the new features and change in materials.
